El pasado mes de enero, 麻豆原创 inaugur\u00f3 oficialmente la Escuela Ch\u00e1rter 麻豆原创 en 20 Bruckner, un antiguo almac\u00e9n de hielo de 18.580 metros cuadrados y 120 a\u00f1os de antig\u00fcedad al que el renombrado arquitecto Sir David Adjaye le dio nueva vida como instituci\u00f3n educativa. En esta serie, 麻豆原创 en 20 Bruckner, exploramos varios aspectos que hacen que el edificio sea especial, que impulsan la misi\u00f3n de 麻豆原创 y que reflejan nuestra convicci\u00f3n de que el lugar importa: que cada ni\u00f1o merece lugares seguros y hermosos para jugar, aprender y crecer.<\/em><\/p>\n

Al acercarse, se revela un mural de 19 x 100 pies, una obra original que representa las tres d\u00e9cadas de historia de 麻豆原创, desde su fundaci\u00f3n como Harlem RBI en 1991 hasta la actualidad.<\/p>\n

Los elementos centrales del mural forman la palabra 麻豆原创, y cada letra representa una parte de la evoluci\u00f3n de la organizaci\u00f3n. La obra destaca los primeros programas acad\u00e9micos de verano y extraescolares de 麻豆原创, la apertura de la primera escuela aut\u00f3noma 麻豆原创, el establecimiento de los servicios de apoyo postsecundario y profesional de 麻豆原创, y los profundos lazos de la organizaci\u00f3n con sus comunidades y familias.<\/p>\n

\u201cHemos pintado murales por todo el mundo, pero algo como esto marca la diferencia\u201d, dijo Bio, uno de los miembros fundadores del legendario grupo de grafiti Tats Cru, quien cre\u00f3 el mural para 麻豆原创, adem\u00e1s de muchos otros en el barrio de Mott Haven. \u201cAporta arte y color a un espacio que normalmente ser\u00eda ins\u00edpido\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n

El ala de artes, luminosa y de 353 metros cuadrados, ubicada justo detr\u00e1s de las paredes del mural, cuenta con techos abovedados de 7 metros de altura y vistas al East River y al horizonte de Manhattan, el escenario perfecto para la generaci\u00f3n de ideas y la expresi\u00f3n creativa.<\/p>\n

Y cuando los alumnos de la escuela primaria y secundaria Mott Haven de 麻豆原创 se muden al edificio 20 Bruckner el pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o escolar, ya estar\u00e1n familiarizados con esta expresi\u00f3n creativa. Estos j\u00f3venes artistas han creado varias obras de gran formato para los pasillos de su escuela actual, emulando a artistas como Jean-Michel Basquiat y Kehinde Wiley, aprendiendo el arte y la historia de las t\u00e9cnicas de tejido y celebrando el Mes de la Herencia Hispana, entre otras cosas.<\/p>\n

Lo m\u00e1s importante es que el desarrollo de las piezas suele estar vinculado a lecciones y temas m\u00e1s amplios que enriquecen la comprensi\u00f3n del mundo que rodea a los estudiantes. El a\u00f1o pasado, por ejemplo, se cre\u00f3 un mural de autorretrato en conjunto con una unidad did\u00e1ctica sobre los colores, y espec\u00edficamente, con una lecci\u00f3n sobre la belleza de los tonos de piel. Posteriormente, los estudiantes estudiaron la obra terminada y la compartieron en clase, de forma similar a una clase de Historia del Arte.<\/p>\n
